*PRACTICES/GAMES/REHEARSALS
Monday – Junior High girls and boys practice after school.

Senior girls practice from 5 to 7 pm

Tuesday – Senior Boys have an away game in Lomond. The bus leaves at 4:00 pm.

Senior girls practice at 3:30 pm

Wednesday – The tier 2 girls’ team 1 plays in Bow Island. They play TCS 2 at 5 pm and

Gershaw at 6 pm.
The tier 2 girls’ team 2 plays at TCS. They play TCS 1 at 4:00 pm and
Foremost at 5:00 pm.
The tier 2 boys play in Bow Island against HCP at 5 and Gershaw at 6 pm.
Senior girls practice at 3:30 pm

Thursday – Senior Boys volleyball practice at 5:30 pm
Friday – The Senior girls are in the Stirling tournament.
*All students in high school that are taking work experience, green certificate, or RAP. Mr.
Pritchard is here every Wednesday at lunchtime.  Please make sure to touch base with Mr.
Pritchard if you are in Work Experience, Green Certificate, RAP, dual credit or introduction to
the trades. He is usually in the gathering area or in Mr. Reiling’s classroom.
*Congratulations to our golf teams who competed in zones yesterday in Magrath.
The girls team won and brought home a banner, the mixed team won silver and the boys team
won bronze.
*The VHS Mentorship training will be September 24 & 25.
*There will be a drama interest meeting on the stage on Wednesday at lunch (Sept. 17th) for
anyone who is interested in acting, prop/set design, or helping backstage in this year's
production.
*Next Wednesday, September 24 th , is our back-to-school BBQ starting at 5:30 pm for all
students, your families and the staff. Please remind your parents and we hope to see everyone
there!
*"This year, it's the 45th anniversary of Terry Fox's Marathon of Hope. Our Terry Fox school run
will be on Thursday September 25th during advisory. We will be fundraising up until the run for
cancer research and our school goal is $350! There are incentives as we hit goals leading up to
that number as well, including freezies after the run if we hit $100, a PJ day if we hit $150, top 5
runners pie teachers in the face if we hit $200 and someone will shave their head if we hit $300!
There are jars in your first period classrooms that you can put your money in, or at the office." 

*Student council meeting will be Tuesday at lunch in Mrs. Astalos’s room. We are looking for
many student voices and are excited to welcome new members.
*Anyone that ordered or wishes to purchase a 2024/2025, which was last June’s yearbook, it is
now available at the office.
*The Career Counselor, Sharla Kane, will be here on Wednesday’s. If you need any information
in regards to college, university, work study programs, entrance requirements, programs offered
and student loans, please let the office know and we can book you an appointment with Sharla.
*Hungry, Need Breakfast –the breakfast program is back on for this school year starting next
week. Every morning, from 8:05 a.m. to the start of class, you can go into the foods room and
grab some breakfast. We are continuing with bagel Thursday.
*HOT LUNCH on Wednesday, will be a cheeseburger and fries. You must purchase a card for
lunch. A single card can be bought for $5.00, and a multi-card can be bought for $20.00 (4
lunches). The punch cards must be purchased from the office ahead of time or they can be
bought with an e-transfer to vauxhallbaseball@gmail.com.
To pick up your hot lunch please go to the following rooms:

Gr 8 – Mr. Virginillo
Gr 9 – Mrs. Astalos
Gr 10 – Mrs. Finlayson
Gr 11 – Mr. Reiling
Gr 12 – Mrs. Schellenberg
*There is an awesome opportunity for high school students to attend Rural Health Professions
Day on October 8 th at the Taber Hospital. Students will be immersed in hands on activities
related to the health care industry. Please pick up a form from the office if interested.
*This year, if you need to purchase a cup of soup for lunch, please go to the office instead of the
corner store. This option is available Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday’s!
*Career Transitions are excited to invite you to the Career Exploration Sessions for this school
year! Those interested in attending need to register in advance in order to receive a link to the
virtual event.
