Grades Taught

Vauxhall Junior Senior High School is located in Vauxhall, Alberta.  We are a small school with approximately 200 students in a small town of about 1,300 people.  But size isn't all that matters!

Vauxhall High School believes that education is a lifelong pursuit!

VHS was recently renovated and upgraded including the Home Ec. and Shop classrooms, the gymnasium, the front offices, our two computer labs, the library and the main student gathering area, just to name a few.  The outdoor areas also received a refresh with an outdoor basketball court and beach volleyball court being added along with simple and beautiful landscaping around the whole building.  The school also houses a dorm where 22 boys live while attending the Vauxhall Academy of Baseball.  They take regular classes at the high school but also have world-class baseball coaches and training. For more information of the Vauxhall Academy of Baseball check out their website vauxhallbaseball.com  Their dorm "mom and dad" provide breakfast food for them in the dorm and a commercial kitchen serves them lunch and supper every day.  All students of VHS get the benefit of the commercial kitchen in that once a week they can purchase a hot lunch for only $5.  Lunches like chicken fingers and fries or caesar salad, taco in a bag, beef on a (homemade) bun and many more delicious choices.

VHS Awards….

The Fraser Institute is an independent non-partisan research and educational organization based in Canada.  They recognize top-performing schools in Alberta for continued academic achievement and improvement.   Schools are typically recognized for having the fastest, most consistent improvement in their academic performance; ensuring their students succeed regardless of the hurdles they may face; and achieving remarkable, ongoing academic success.

Vauxhall High School’s most recent Fraser Institute ranking for 2015-2016 school year is #39 out of all 274 High Schools in Alberta.  Our best rank in the past five years saw VHS reach #12 in Alberta, including private schools.

The Garfield Weston Awards for Excellence in Education honours school teams—teachers, administrators, and support staff—who make outstanding contributions to their students’ academic success through skill, dedication, and hard work.  In 2009, Vauxhall Junior Senior High School won the award for Determination in Academic Achievement - High School along with a $3,000 prize.
